Creating poetry from a collection of words
At our lunchtime poetry session on Zoom last week, Mel Wardle Woodend, our Poet Laureate for Staffordshire, asked members to take a walk and write down a few words to send to her on the theme of Autumn. The idea was to make us stop and look and really think about the autumn changes happening around us. Well, we all did this and the poem below is the result of those moments of reflection. Thank you Mel
Sadly, this was the last of our 4 sessions with Mel, but we have applied for some funding to run some more, so fingers crossed, Mel will be back with us in January to support our members with some more poetry and this time they will be writing their own. Wow!
If anyone is interested in joining us for the poetry, please get in touch with Val who will be pleased to tell you more about how to get involved.
