Virtual Hub numbers climbing

Week two of the Virtual social hub on Zoom has proved to be very popular with 11 people attending and two more getting in touch to say that they wanted to be there but will try again next week. It was so lovely to see everyone and be able to talk to people face to face, and even better to hear some of the lovely banter we hear at the social hub being shared by people.

We asked everyone how they were coping and in the main people were doing ok. They are enjoying being able to get outside in the sunshine for some exercise, and, this seems to be one of the things that people value most. Its clear that people don’t want to dwell too much on the negatives, instead they want the virtual hub to be “social” as we are at the hubs. So next week, those who want to are going to wear their craziest trousers – not compulsory, but should make us all smile, and we have a promise, which is now in writing, that Ian and Adam will attempt a Ukelele duo in the virtual hub in 3 weeks time. Our reasoning is that if Sting and Rolling Stones can do it, we should be able to come up with something abit special too!

We also talked about the Knit and Natter Group and two members today have asked us to sign them up to the Knit and Natter Whats App Group – a great way of occupying mind and hands when time is dragging.

We are going to look for someone to run a virtual creative writing group as unfortunately our volunteer is not on the internet and is unable to do this. In the meantime people were encouraged to look at some of the Creative Writing Challenges on the Activities page.
