The Role

Do you want to work for an organisation that makes a real difference to the communities that we support? We now have a fantastic opportunity for part time Scheme Assistant, working 20 hours per week, joining our St Dominic’s Court scheme in Stoke-on-Trent.

As a Scheme Assistant you will assist with mealtimes by taking orders, serving and cleaning alongside the kitchen staff. You will ensure that a safe environment and ensuring high standards of cleanliness is maintained. You will also be involved in ordering, monitoring and rotation of cleaning materials to ensure all communal areas are cleaned to a high standard and supporting the Housing Manager.

This role will include working on a rota basis across the week, including every other weekend and bank holidays.

Our Ideal Candidate? We are looking for individuals with:

  • Minimum of Food Safety Level 2 qualification or must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Basic health and safety training and knowledge of using domestic cleaning equipment.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, and communicate in a pleasant manner with a diverse range of people confidently is vital in this role.

The roles.

  • You’ll have experience of working within a grooming environment, and ideally, you’ll have experience in a similar, fast-paced environment where you’ve taken a hands-on approach.
  • It is essential that you can complete a groom from start to finish on the majority of breeds to a high standard (please note that grooming your own pet does not qualify as professional experience).
  • Having a grooming related qualification would also be beneficial.
  • You’ll have a proven track record of delivering high standards!
