We are looking to appoint a cheerful and motivated person with great interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service to work as an Outpatient Receptionist within the outpatient areas at the Royal Stoke Hospital.

We are responsible for providing outpatient reception services across the Trust with a team of committed and professional staff. These are very busy areas and provide a focal point for receiving patients, visitors, and staff to the hospital. You would be joining a dedicated administrative team that supports patient care within the clinical outpatient environment. Carry out all tasks connected with Goods being returned which includes, unloading vehicles, sorting returns and putting stock away.

Ensure quality and accuracy whilst performing any operation.

Perform quality, audit and other checks on product or storage locations as required.

Maintain stock integrity by ensuring correct stock and system moves.

Perform all other duties as reasonably required that are consistent with both training and experience.

Health and safety – to be fully compliant with all health and safety requirements including warehouse procedures, PPE, and housekeeping.

Complete the pre and post use inspections on the workplace transport and report any malfunction or damage to ensure that the workplace transfer is in good working order at all times.

Overview:
Recruiting volunteers for children and young people with additional/complex needs and/or learning disabilities in Stoke-On-Trent

For many children and young people living in foster care can be unsettling. You can make a difference by volunteering as an Independent Visitor.

Responsibilities:
Independent visitors support a child or young person on a one-to-one basis. Young people are offered the chance to meet with an Independent Visitor if they have little or no contact with their own families. As a volunteer you are there for the child or young person; a positive role-model who is independent and distinct from the paid professionals they see.

You will meet with a child or young person once a month to offer support, encouragement, and guidance. This could involve taking part in a fun activity together or simply having a chat.

If you would like to be there for a child or young person, letting them know they have someone on their side, then this is the volunteering role for you.

Skills and qualities needed to support a child or young person:

To support the young person to feel valued, included and listened to
The ability to see the world from a different perspective
Enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved
Knowledge of the autism spectrum is an advantage but it is not essential
Patience and understanding of the needs of others
Accepting of others who may be different to yourself

We will support you in this role by ensuring that you receive regular supervision, and have a key contact for day-to-day advice and guidance. In return for the time, you give you will receive valuable training and gain experience and skills. You’ll be making a real difference too.
