The role of the Apprentice Chemist will involve comprehensive training to a standard which ensures that the technical service to the company’s customers is of the highest quality. Usual duties will include:
Laboratory analysis of all incoming test samples using a full range of test methods and equipment.
Metal working Coolant testing.
Testing of samples of water for the company’s outflow discharges of fluids for compliance with water authority limits for the site.
Testing IBC wash system fluids.
Once suitably trained the person will spend 1 week per month on the Day shift within the Quality Control laboratory as part of the cross-department rota support.
Assisting R&D Chemists on various project work.
To develop an overall understanding of all laboratory activities as a key team member.
Successful candidate will be educated up to degree level, receiving a Level 6 qualification in Chemistry upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning Apprenticeship
Could this be the perfect opportunity for you take the first step on the ladder of your teaching career? Would you like to help people learn whilst working towards a nationally recognised qualification? This apprenticeship will be hands on, challenging and will stretch you to your limits but most importantly it will be fun and exciting and will develop so many important skills for your future. We are looking for people aged 18+ to support learners with Special Educational Needs(SEN), many of whom demonstrate challenging behaviours.
Youll be based at our education facility in Shelton Stoke on Trent, where by youll work alongside an Inclusive Education Practitioner (IEP) to support students. During term time youll be part of a team delivering a bespoke package of education to SEN learners on a day to day basis including basic academic subjects plus regular opportunities to work in the outdoors delivering enrichment sessions(eg, mountain biking, climbing, water sports, etc). The balance of academic:outdoor activity is dependent on each learners capability and level of engagement. Your IEP (who may have started their journey as an apprentice themselves) will take the lead in managing the learners progress and will support your development whilst you assist them in learning delivery. Our aim is that youll follow in their footsteps at the end of your apprenticeship programme! Outside term time youll have time to concentrate on your Level 3 course work. You will need a flexible outlook and a willingness to learn new things and take on new challenges.
