07.10.20 – Vacancies

Crew Member

McDonald’s – Stoke-on-Trent ST4 2HX

Join us and you will become part of a crew, or a team, that works together to provide the best customer experience. If you have visited one of our restaurants before, you have probably got some idea of what is involved in working here. But you might not realise the variety and scope of the role. We want every McDonald’s customer to have a brilliant experience, every time they visit. That means hot food in a clean and friendly restaurant. As a Crew Member, you’ll make it happen, whether you’re preparing food, serving on the till or being out in the dining areas looking after our customers’ needs.

A franchised restaurant is a restaurant operated by a local business person trading under the McDonald’s name. Currently over 80% of our restaurants in the UK are franchised but from a customer point of view there is no difference. For employees there will be minor differences between a company and a franchised restaurant. Please refer to additional information for more details.

Position Requirements

Quite simply, you will be working in our fast moving, high energy environment and we are looking for a genuine smile plus an ability to connect with customers and make them feel valued.

Position Attributes

To join us as a Crew Member you will need to be confident in approaching and dealing with diverse groups of people. Friendly, courteous, and helpful behaviour will come naturally to you and you will work well as part of a team. Effective communication skills such as attentive listening, face-to-face verbal communication and eye contact are a must. You will also need to understand the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and service as well as cleanliness. The ability to maintain high energy levels whilst working both efficiently and productively is essential. Finally, your appearance should be smart and clean.

Claims Handlers / Customer Service (Insurance)

Davies Group – Stoke-on-Trent ST1

Are you looking for a job, or a career?

We think there is no organisation quite like Davies to support you to progress in your chosen career path. We’re proud of our development culture, and our continuing investment in a wide range of internal programmes and external qualifications.

So, are you a Davies person?
We’re looking for individuals who share our passion and want to play a part in shaping our future. Being a Davies person means being part of our exciting journey.

Our culture is the foundation of who we are. We do not do “business as usual”! We’re set apart by our Disruptive Thinking, our unique “Innovation Lab” programmes, and a solid Corporate Social Responsibility.

As we continue to grow and diversify it’s crucial to us that all Davies colleagues stay true to our “Big IDEA”: to Inspire, Deliver, Empower and Aspire. These values remain the cornerstone of what we do.

What we’re looking for:
Joining Davies’ Claims Solutions means that you’ll be involved in the full life cycle of our customer insurance claims, ensuring our policyholders receive exceptional service and a speedy resolution. We are looking for people with transferable skills, so previous experience isn’t necessary.

It’s a role with a broad range of responsibilities, but the fundamentals include:

Composing professional and informative letters and other written correspondence
Ensuring compliance with our contractual and regulatory requirements
Recording full and accurate details within our systems
Contributing to a happy team working environment

What does a typical day in Davies Claims Solutions look like?

In the morning you will be given your workload allocation from your line manager
You will then use the remainder of the day to manage your own workload; taking inbound calls, making outbound calls and using web portals to communicate effectively and empathetically
Your focus is on delivering exceptional service to our customers when they call to discuss their existing insurance claim
You’re fully supported by line managers and your team throughout the day using chat functions, emails, calls and face to face assistance to ensure you can always get help when you need it
A typical call with a customer begins with security checks, then you will discuss the specifics of the claim including documents, payments etc. You may need to ask questions such as clarifying the number of travellers and other details to aid the progression of the claim. You will then close the claims when concluded, or advise the customer of next steps to progress.

The skills and qualities you’ll need:
A professional and adaptable communication style – both written and verbal;
Efficient administrative skills;
Strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills;
A proactive attitude, and an enthusiastic approach

There are no specific qualifications that we demand for the role; and although we welcome those with previous industry experience, it’s transferable skills and qualities that we value here at Davies. If you have what we’re looking for, as set out above, and you’re on board with the values as per our “Big IDEA”, then we’ll provide a full and comprehensive induction and training programme to support and nurture you in the first steps of your career journey.

What we offer:
Monday – Friday (09:00AM – 17:30PM)
You receive two 10 minute comfort breaks and a 30 minute break for lunch per day
Contracted hours are 37.5 hours per week

You’ll enjoy benefits such as above-statutory holidays, pension, life assurance, access to training and professional qualifications, Corporate Social Responsibility events, Innovation Lab programmes, Davies Incentive Programme, Employee Assistance Programme, and other wellbeing services such as Headspace app membership…. And much more!
